Your 2 day desert trip from marrakech begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or riad. As you leave Marrakech, you will journey through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, pausing to take in the breathtaking scenery. After a scenic lunch stop, you will head to Merzouga, your final destination.
In the afternoon, camels await to guide you through the Erg Chebbi Dunes. You will pause atop a high dune to witness a mesmerizing sunset. Then, you will continue your camel ride to the desert camp, where you will find your private tent. After freshening up, savor a delicious dinner and gather around a campfire for drumming and Berber songs.
Today, we recommend that you wake up early in the morning to watch a magnificent sunrise. After a delightful breakfast, we will depart from the camp in a 4×4 car, heading to the town of Merzouga. From there, our journey takes us back to the vibrant city of Marrakech, with several stops en route, including a lunch break.
One notable stop is at the panoramic viewpoint of the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, an iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This well-preserved village is also a sought-after location for film producers, with numerous movies and TV series, such as Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones, choosing it as a backdrop for their productions. We will reach Marrakech late afternoon, dropping you off at your riad. End of your Marrakech 2 day desert tour.

This 2-day tour was the perfect mini-adventure! Our guide Mustapha was fantastic very knowledgeable and always smiling. The drive through the High Atlas was breathtaking, and the camel trek into Erg Chebbi at sunset was pure magic. We loved sleeping in the desert camp under the stars and listening to Berber music around the fire. Mustapha even woke us up early for the sunrise absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!
I only had two free days in Morocco and this tour gave me the full desert experience. Our guide Youssef made sure everything ran smoothly. The stop at the ancient khettara irrigation system was fascinating – something I never expected to see. The camel ride was gentle and the sandboarding at the dunes was so much fun. The camp was clean and the food delicious. Youssef went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Thank you!
We booked this tour last minute and it exceeded our expectations. Our guide Hassan was professional, punctual, and spoke excellent English. We visited Ait Ben Haddou on the second day and climbed to the top – the views were incredible. The return journey through Draa Valley was scenic and peaceful, a nice change from the busier route. Hassan took great photos for us and let us stop whenever we wanted. An unforgettable 2 days!
What a fantastic way to see the desert in just two days! Our guide Rachid was brilliant – very friendly and full of interesting stories about the places we passed. The camel trek at sunset and sunrise were the highlights, but we also enjoyed the stop at the Rose Valley and the fossil markets in Erfoud. The camp was comfortable and the stargazing was out of this world. Rachid made sure we had the best experience possible.
