On the first day of your trip, we will meet you at the port and start your journey toward Fes. Our first stop will be Chefchaouen, the famous blue town nestled between the Rif Mountains. At first sight, it looks like a typical Mediterranean town with white houses and blue-painted walls, but once you enter the medina, you will immediately feel its unique Moorish charm.
During your visit, you can explore places of interest such as Outa El Hammam Square, the Grand Mosque, and the old medina. After enjoying the beauty of Chefchaouen, we will continue our journey toward Fes.
Along the way, we will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, considered the best-preserved Roman archaeological site in Morocco. Later, we will stop for a panoramic view of Moulay Idriss, one of the country’s most important holy towns. After lunch, we continue to Fes, where we will arrive in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Fes.
After breakfast, the whole day will be dedicated to exploring Fes, the oldest imperial city and one of the spiritual and cultural capitals of Morocco. Founded in the 8th century by Moulay Idriss II, Fes is famous for its ancient medina, traditional souks, and rich history.
The highlights of the day include a guided visit to the medieval medina, the Bou Inania and Al Attarine Medersas, the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, and the beautiful Nejjarine Fountain. You will also visit the famous tanneries and discover local artisans practicing traditional crafts.
After lunch, continue exploring the city and enjoy the authentic atmosphere of one of Morocco’s most fascinating destinations. Dinner and overnight stay in Fes.
After an early breakfast, we will depart for Merzouga, passing through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its clean streets, alpine-style houses, and cool climate.
We then continue to Azrou, where you may see Barbary macaques in the cedar forest. After that, we head to Midelt for lunch. Midelt is known for its handicrafts and as an important mining center.
In the afternoon, we continue our drive through the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and fortified villages. Passing through Erfoud and Rissani, we finally arrive in Merzouga. Check-in at the hotel, followed by dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will explore the fascinating Merzouga desert area, home to some of the most spectacular sand dunes in Morocco. During the tour, you will enjoy a live performance of Gnaoua spiritual music, visit local nomads in their tent, and share authentic moments with them.
We will also visit Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional souk and its connection to the Alaouite dynasty. Here, you may enjoy a delicious Berber pizza for lunch. Later, we return to the hotel to relax and prepare for your camel trek.
In the late afternoon, you will ride camels into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and enjoy the magical sunset over the desert. Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by traditional Berber music and an overnight stay in a private desert tent.
Today, you will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes, when the desert changes color beautifully with the morning light. After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and travel toward Ouarzazate.
Along the way, we pass through palm groves, kasbahs, and small Berber villages. We stop in Tinjdad for lunch, then continue to the spectacular Todra Gorges, famous for their high rock walls and dramatic landscapes.
After visiting the gorges, we drive through the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses, passing through Kalaat M’Gouna before reaching Ouarzazate in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, we visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, one of the most impressive historical sites in Ouarzazate. Then we continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous ksars in Morocco. This ancient village has been used as a filming location for many international movies and series.
After lunch, we continue our journey to Marrakech across the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, we will stop for photos, coffee, or tea while enjoying the stunning mountain scenery.
Arrival in Marrakech is expected in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in a riad or hotel.
After breakfast, the day will be dedicated to discovering Marrakech, the “Pearl of the South” and one of Morocco’s most vibrant imperial cities.
Your sightseeing tour includes the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the Menara Gardens. After lunch, continue exploring the colorful souks and the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, where you can experience storytellers, musicians, snake charmers, and many other forms of traditional entertainment.
In the evening, you may enjoy a traditional Fantasia dinner under caidal tents, with horse shows, folkloric performances, and music from different regions of Morocco. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
After breakfast, we will drive you from your riad or hotel in Marrakech back to Tangier via the highway. Upon arrival in Tangier, our 8-day Morocco tour from Tangier comes to an end.
